Is a Home Business Right For You?

businessx1 copyMany believe that owning a home business is the ultimate dream.  Yet, in reality, there is a lot of responsibility in maintaining that dream.  And some people won’t be able to handle the challenge.  How can you tell if you’re one of them?

Well, first, you must ask yourself if you can handle the financial sacrifice associated with owning a home business.  This sacrifice comes in two ways.  The first and most obvious is the investment you have to make in the home business.  This investment can be hundreds or even thousands of dollars depending on what you’re doing.

The second financial sacrifice involves your beginning revenue.  This will usually start very low, which can be a setback for you and your family.  Until the money starts coming in, you’re going to have to figure out how to pay your bills and put food on the table.  So, you will either need to have a job, or a situation where income isn’t a big deal.

Next, you need to see if you’re organized and self-motivated.  This is very important when starting a home business, because you’re not going to have a boss telling you what to do.  You’re going to have to have your own will to make phone calls, find clients and work on your advertising.  If you don’t you won’t make any sales, which means you won’t earn income.

Finally, you need to see if you have a profitable business idea.  If you’re working with an established company, this will be a little easier to tell.  But if you’re selling your own widgets, you’re going to have to figure out if your business will generate public interest.  That’s why you’ll probably want to conduct market research before you invest time and/or money into your home business, to make sure it will be worth your while.

In conclusion, starting a home business isn’t going to be for everyone.  If you can’t handle the financial sacrifice or you’re not organized, you’ll be doomed to failure.  The same can also be said if your home business idea isn’t deemed profitable by the public.  So, make sure you check out all the variables before getting started.  If you find you don’t have what it takes to start a home business, you may want to stick with the old-fashioned 9 to 5 job.

logo-adsenseIf you’re into making money from home, you may have come across Adsense revenue-sharing sites.  But what are they?  Basically, Adsense revenue-sharing sites are networks where you can earn money from Adsense clicks, (the little ads that appear on a website).  What happens is that the ads get rotated a certain number of times, to benefit both the network and you.  HubPages is an example, where you get credit for the clicks 60 percent of the time.  They get credit 40 percent of the time.

Now, the advantages of such an arrangement are obvious.  Firstly, you don’t have to manage your own website, since everything is taken care of in the Adsense revenue-sharing network.  This means you don’t have to worry about hosting costs or Web design, things that can be pretty annoying if you don’t know how to build your own site.

Secondly, you get some link-building power from Google.  This is important once you start building on the network, because it helps determine if your Web pages are going to be seen.  If you were to do everything yourself, you would have to be a SEO genius to get your site ranked.  This is in contrast to Adsense revenue-sharing sites, which usually already have the SEO taken care of.

However, do these advantages mean that Adsense revenue-sharing sites are a good model for home businesses?  It depends on what you’re looking for.  If you want the ability to build a quick SEO site, Adsense revenue-sharing networks work wonders because everything is already provided for you.  But if you want the ability to maximize your Adsense income, you would do things on your own.  Why?  Well, first off, you get to keep all your content.  With Adsense revenue-sharing sites, the editors determine if your content is worthy enough.  If it isn’t, it gets deleted, despite all the work you may have put into it.

In addition, if you do things on your own you get to keep all your earnings.  It’s not this way with Adsense revenue-sharing sites, where you lose a portion of your money to the network.  This can get to be very annoying once you start earning hundreds of dollars.

In conclusion, Adsense revenue-sharing sites shouldn’t be seen as a reliable home business.  Sure, they take the difficulty out of building a website, but they also take away your element of control.  And when it comes to Adsense, it’s this element of control that gives you the most money and security.

If They Like You, They Will Come

business_woman_with_groupLet’s face it. People who accept jobs or quit jobs are actually accepting a job with or quitting their boss. If people like you, are attracted to and believe in you, they will follow.  A home networking business depends on those who believe in you and want to do what you are doing.

Mistakes that people make are that they try to be someone they are not.  They push too hard with the goal of selling instead of setting the goal to make as many connections as possible.  By touching as many people as you can in a positive way, you are already creating your network.  Maybe those people might not join your cause right away, but over time they will.  Build a solid base and reputation and soon your network will grow astronomically.

The first thing to remember is to make people feel comfortable with you and not feel pressured.  Speak with confidence, but not arrogance.  Do not be overbearing.  And invite your audience to interact.  When you speak, mean what you are saying.  If you truly believe in what you are saying, others will as well.

An interactive component can involve not only a question and answer section on you website or blog but also a discussion forum.  Invite conversation, debate and get people excited about what they are talking about.  They can be involved in coming up with solutions and feeling part of the business already.  This sparks more interest and a higher chance of conversion.  Listen and understand what is being said and let the audience lead.

Be sure to smile and throw in a few jokes to make people laugh.  Laughter makes people more comfortable and relaxed and more willing to listen.  Keep your body language friendly and welcoming.  Show trust in your eyes and a relaxed body manner to convey an authentic message.

Personal appearances to promote your business work well if you can get a great response from your audience.  When you have this opportunity, take full advantage of it.  Unlike people visiting your website, you can steer their thoughts and minds in the direction you want by giving them the information they need, packaged in a fun and well put together presentation.  If they like you, they will want to work with you.  It is you that they will believe in and therefore, they will believe in the business and their own potential within it.  They will buy into YOU.

servicios-seoHave you ever wondered that, even though you have a great website, you are not getting enough business? It could be because you are not showing up at the top of the Google search page.

Have you heard of Google’s quality score? The Google search engine works on an algorithm that is known as “Quality Score” algorithm. Google not only looks for the keywords in the pages but also looks for the quality of content on the page. So, to be known and get cached by Google’s search engine you not only have to increase the keywords on your site but you need to use the keywords in relevant content. Having lots of content on your site that is rich with keywords is the best way to raise your Quality Score.

Google will measure your keyword content and compare it to you text while it searches and assigns a score. Get higher relevance with a better relationship between your keyword, the searchers query word and the content on your landing pages in addition to your ads. Achieving a higher score can mean that your site will appear higher on the page and thus, earn more clicks.

The landing page is the page where visitors will land when they click on your listing on the Google search page. When designing a landing page make sure it is filled with content and relevant keywords and remember to keep your content up to date to maintain a high score. Many people often use search engines to find what they are looking for. By increasing your quality score you will see higher traffic to your site. You can keep an eye on your quality score by watching your account stats or keyword analysis, as it updates often. This will give you an idea when and where your website is lacking and allow you time for change without losing peoples interest. You can always beef it up with more links and content.

So if you want to get good “scoring” with Google for your home business, you need to make sure to have plenty of up to date and relevant content. A fine tuned website with a great landing page and high Quality Score is sure to get you on the winning track much more than a landing page. When it comes to the internet it is all about marketing, and marketing equals great success.
